For most of a decade, one word followed me everywhere: never. It was the word the doctors used for all the things I would never do again, after the Army left me with injuries few people could see. What I thought had taken my dreams away led me somewhere I never expected. It became a calling: walking with others through their own dark, and helping them build a life worth the fight.
